Known as "Dr. G," she advocates for students, mentors leaders, and coaches teachers, promoting positive change and professional development. She holds degrees from the University of Houston, University of Houston-Victoria, and Texas A&M University. Her childhood experiences inspire her commitment to making a difference in the lives of youth.

My name is Jose Serpas, and I am the assistant principal at ​Hearne Elementary School. I have been a proud member of the Alief family for more than ​25 years and assistant principal at ​Hearne Elementary School for over 6 years. Before becoming an assistant principal, I taught 4th grade bilingual math and science for 8 years. After, I served as ​math recovery teacher for 4 years and math interventionist for 4 years. I served as assistant principal at Martin Elementary School for 4 years before I became assistant principal at Hearne Elementary School.

I graduated from ​the University of Houston, where I obtained my ​Bachelor's degree in ​Science and Interdisciplinary Studies. I also hold a Master's of Science in Educational Management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
